Refund policy
We want you to wear what you ordered, not what you settled for. If something doesn't work out, here's how returns work.
The basics
You can return any unworn, unwashed item with the original tags attached within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. For limited-drop items marked Final Sale, refunds are not available except where required under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
How to start a return
Email hello@taniwhajacket.com with your order number and a one-line note about what you're returning and why. We'll send you a return label and instructions.
Return shipping
For NZ customers, change-of-mind returns cost $8 (deducted from your refund). For faulty or incorrectly-shipped items, we cover return shipping in full. International return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the item is faulty.
Refunds
Once we receive your return, we'll inspect it and process the refund within 3 business days. Refunds go back to your original payment method. Bank processing usually takes another 2–5 business days to show on your statement.
Exchanges
We can exchange for a different size or colour if it's available. If the item you want isn't in stock, we'll refund you instead. Exchange shipping back to you is on us.
Faulty or incorrect items
If you've received a faulty or incorrect item, please contact us within 7 days of receipt at hello@taniwhajacket.com. Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, you have the right to a remedy — a replacement, repair, or refund depending on the nature of the fault.
Items we can't refund
Items returned after 30 days, items that have been worn, washed, or damaged after delivery, items returned without their original tags, Final Sale items (except in cases of fault, where Consumer Guarantees Act rights apply), and gift cards.
Sale items
Items purchased on sale can be returned for a refund or exchange within 14 days of delivery, provided they meet the other return conditions above.
This policy is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.
